Itinerary

DAY 16: Kamakura and Enoshima
So far, Tokyo has been incredible. If only there were a way to extend your trip just a little longer. Oh wait, there is! For those Explorers who want more, this 3-day, 2-night extension will do just that, all by train, giving off old-school nostalgia but with ultra-modern flair that makes each journey part of the adventure! All aboard the historic Enoden coastal train in Kamakura, where you’ll get a chance to see plenty from your window seat, including ocean views, busy shopping areas, ancient temples, and of course, the can’t-miss Great Buddha of Kamakura.
Later, in the evening, stretch your legs exploring the small island of Enoshima on foot before hopping on the Shonan-Enoshima monorail, a wild ride that can zip through tunnels at record speed. But don’t worry, that doesn’t mean you won’t take in what this area off the Shōnan coast of Japan’s Kanagawa Prefecture is known for. You’ll get your fill of caves and local shrines.
Accommodation: Metropolitan Ikebukuro (or similar), Tokyo
Included: Breakfast

DAY 17: Odaiba and Tomioka Hachiman
Another day, another train! And this one may not be like any other you’ve travelled on before. The Yurikamome line is a driverless (yes, that’s right!) automated transit system that will drop your group off at the busy Tsukiji outer market, allowing time to weave through narrow alleyways with your guide and sample the local street food flavours.
After you fill up, keep your eyes peeled as you enter Odaiba, a man-made island in Tokyo Bay and the entertainment destination with its waterfront parks, huge shopping malls, and must-see attractions like the Rainbow Bridge and replica Statue of Liberty.
You’re not finished with the rails just yet. One last ride takes you to the traditional stone-and-water Kiyosumi-garden, one of the oldest in Tokyo, dating back to the Meiji Period. Many tourists don’t know about it, so you won’t have to worry about any big crowds getting in the way of finding your inner peace, even while in the middle of the city.
Accommodation: Metropolitan Ikebukuro (or similar), Tokyo
Included: Breakfast

DAY 18: Farewell
Time certainly has a way of flying, and these extra days went by way too fast! Now is the time to ask for numbers and offer a warm embrace during your final breakfast with fellow Explorers. Hopefully, your travels will bring you together again, but until then, grab a photo of your group for a lasting memory to take with you back home.
